My Ukraine Travel Wishlist

Ukraine’s tourism industry is still developing, and it’s a really affordable destination.

A lot of tourism activities in Ukraine are relating to Chernobyl or war. I excluded these from my list, since I would rather spend more time exploring the mountains in Yaremche.

Just a nice, simple list of where I’d like to go in Ukraine.

1. Kyiv (Kiev)

• The big old buildings: Saint Sophia’s Cathedral, Saint Andrew’s Church, Pechersk Lavra Monastery, Saint Volodymyr’s Cathedral
• Pyrohiv open-air museum

2. Lviv

• Colourful, old architecture
• Medieval pharmacy museum
• Folk village museum

3. Yaremche

• Folk culture and village life in the Carpathian Mountains
• Beautiful hikes including Mt Makovytsia trail, Mt Hoverla trail

4. Chernivtsi

• Convenient 1 day stop over
• Bite sized old town with quaint cobblestone streets
• Chernivtsi National University architecture

5. Kamianets-Podilskyi

• Kamianets-Podilskyi Castle

Other locations

These ones didn’t quite make the cut for my wishlist but could easily be added to the route:

• Lutsk, Tunnel of Love
• Odesa, beach side city
