Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum!

Let me start this review by telling you my favourite joke:

Why are pirates pirates?

…Because they ARGGGH!

And what is a pirate’s favourite letter of the alphabet?

Arghh?

No! It’s the SEA!!!

Arghahahahjhaaa!

So, Treasure Island. What a classic. It definitely delivers everything you would expect: pirates, treasure, swashbuckling adventure etc. A few extra surprises were the ‘black spot’ and the dialogue of sly and secretive pirate slang.

Thoroughly enjoyable, but it didn’t beat ‘Kidnapped’, which remains my favourite R. L. Stevenson classic.
