Quaint.

This book does all the things you would expect it to. So if you want a cozy tragedy in 1800s rural Ireland, that’s exactly what you’ll get.

The writing style was very generic. The story could have benefitted from more mystery.

I probably wasn’t the right reader for this.

I didn’t finish it. My rating is ‘meh’ out of 5.

If you want 1800s with more punch, I’d recommend True History of the Kelly Gang. The focus is the life of Irish-Australian outlaw, Ned Kelly.
